The Travel Life

I like to travel to distant places. Before the pandemic, I traveled on an airplane about four times a year visiting family and friends and seeing new places.

My ex-husband worked for an airline so we made sure our kids saw a bit of the world when they were young. I wanted my kids exposed to other cultures and people.

I’m interested in art, architecture, literature, history, and culture, and I’m a photographer. Traveling makes everything come alive.

I’d rather spend money on a trip than almost anything else.

I love new experiences, though they can get interesting when you’re traveling — like the time I thought I’d die in Cambodia. It was the most fantastic trip I’ve been on to date, but…

I probably shouldn’t have eaten that fresh pineapple just outside one of the temples. It was delicious, but it came with a side of dysentery and more. I’ll spare you the gory details.

Thank God it was near the end of my trip and for my doctor who insisted I bring some antibiotics along.

Then came the pandemic, and everything ground to a standstill.
